Abigail Ellsworth, ND, LAc

Naturopathic Doctor and Acupuncturist

It's nice to meet you.

Growing up, I spent summers in Frankfort, where I developed a deep love for the lakes, trails, beaches, and vibrant community. After an academic journey that took me through Wisconsin and Alaska, I completed a 6-year, combined Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Masters in Oriental Medicine, which was a full-time, in residence program at the National University of Natural Medicine, in Portland, OR; one of five Naturopathic Medical Programs in North America recognized by the US Department of Education. In 2015, returned to Northern Michigan to open my practice. â€‹

With offices in Traverse City and Frankfort, I provide a range of services including Acupuncture, Clinical Nutrition, Botanical Medicine, Homeopathy, and Lifestyle advice. My goal is to help you achieve your health aspirations through a personalized and integrative approach.

I specialize in alternative pain management, menopause and menstrual difficulties, autoimmune conditions, skin disorders, sleep issues, stress management, and more. â€‹Over the past nine years, my focus has expanded to explore how environmental exposures impact our adaptability systems—specifically the nervous, hormonal, and immune systems. My practice emphasizes Environmentally Acquired Illnesses, including mold/mycotoxin illnesses, heavy metal exposure, chronic infections, and tick-borne diseases. I have pursued advanced training in detoxification strategies through the American College for the Advancement in Medicine and Dr. Paul Anderson, ND. I also hold a Mold Literacy Certification from Dr. Jill Crista and continue my education through mentorship with Dr. Crista and Dr. Neil Nathan, MD.

Outside the office, you can find me cross-country skiing, paddleboarding, rollerblading, gardening, woodworking, mountain biking, or hiking with my dogs, Franklin, Judy, and Bernice, along with my partner, Joe. I'm also active in local Environmental groups and am a member of the board for the United Way of Northwest Michigan.
